How to Play
Join matching numbered tiles and work toward 2048.
Move the tiles
On desktop, use the arrow keys or WASD. On a tablet, swipe across the board or use the directional controls.
Merge and score
When two tiles with the same value meet, they combine into one tile. The merged value is added to your score. Each move also adds a new tile when space is available.
Undo and continue
Undo restores up to five recent moves. You may also press U or ⌘/Ctrl + Z. Reaching 2048 wins the game, but you can keep playing for a higher score.
Tablet tips
Swipe mostly horizontally or vertically for the most reliable response. Swipe sensitivity and directional controls can be adjusted in Settings.
Game Data
Back up or transfer the current game, preferences, theme, best score, and lifetime statistics.
Importing a backup replaces locally saved game data. Reset All Data clears the current game, best score, preferences, theme, and lifetime statistics.
